Hello, I'm
(say it: Kay‑daar) केदार
I'm 5 years old, I live in Canada, and I wrote a whole book about my favourite country. It's called From Aurora to Zamboni — an A to Z journey through Canada.
A little about me
I'm Canadian — and my family is from the sub‑Himalayan state of Uttarakhand in India. My name केदार means "Lord of the Mountains." Pretty cool, right?
painting day
Painting rocks. Building things with real tools. Spotting maple leaves on the walk to school. Asking grown‑ups questions like "why do beavers have orange teeth?"
tiny carpenter
Safety goggles on, saw in hand. If I can imagine it, I want to make it. That's also how the book started — I just wanted to make one.
Toques. Mittens. Snowmobiles. Hot chocolate after. That's my whole personality from November to April. (Did you know Z is for Zamboni? Yeah.)
My book
An ABC Journey Through Canada · written by Kedaar, age 4 · published when he turned 5
"A is for Aurora… Z is for Zamboni… and twenty‑four very Canadian things in between."
It's a beautifully illustrated 8.5"×8.5" board‑style children's book celebrating Canadian culture and heritage. Every letter highlights something Kedaar picked himself — from Beavers and Canoes to Poutine and the Northern Lights.
Each spread has bold retro illustrations, uppercase + lowercase letters to build alphabet skills, and one playful fact per page. (Yes — a beaver's front teeth really never stop growing.)

Beyond the book
Because every kid in Canada deserves a copy.
Kedaar's vision didn't end with the first edition. He wanted the book to be accessible to every child — so he asked that it be made available for free to any family unable to buy a copy.
That's how the Free Book Program was born at maplebeaver.ca. Anyone can request a free copy. The program is funded by generous donors who sponsor copies for others, and by the sale of Maple Beaver merch featuring the Canadian icons from the book.
A to Z, every page, made for sharing.
Any family in Canada can request a free copy through Maple Beaver.
Anyone can sponsor a copy for $7.99 and put the book into another kid's hands.
Every shirt sold at Maple Beaver also sponsors a copy. Royalties go right back in.
